systems is an album that brings together music written at different times, in different places, and in different states of mind. It moves through various moods and genres like Techno, Electro, Electronica and IDM.
I have worked on this album for more than two years, processing my personal impressions of the contemporary electronic music culture in Europe. Being in cities like Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam and more has inspired me to connect the spirit of todays scene with its sonic roots.
For me, electronic music is about using the machines to create something that did not exist before. Taking something synthetic and trying to give it weight, character and maybe even a sense of emotion.
Most of these tracks started from small ideas and grew from there. Some stayed minimal, others did not. there is no single narrative running through, it is more like a radio station, something you tune into, stay with for a while, and then leave again.
