KISD

The short film Wake up! explores the contrast between dream and reality, with an additional layer addressing social inequality. This video was part of the application program at KISD (Köln International School of Design) for the bachelor degree Integrated Design.

It begins with a sleeping figure in a white, abstract space, symbolizing detachment and the comfort of a society in slumber. Atmospheric textures and distant xylophone sounds, recorded with an old dictaphone, create a fragile, dreamlike mood. Destructive audio effects such as bitcrush and overdrive intensify the cracks in the dream and the intrusion of uncomfortable fragments of reality.
